Side Effects : Problems that occur when treatment goes beyond the desired effect, or problems that occur in addition to the desired therapeutic effect of a drug or vaccine.

Pain is the chief complaint of individuals with disorders of the lower back . therefore, initial treatment is directed to reduce local pain and inflammation before proceeding to further interventions. Simultaneously, efforts should be made to establish a diagnosis , which includes identification of the causative disorder. Once the diagnosis is clear then definitive therapy can be started.

There are various agents that can be helpful in reducing the painful phase of acute lower back problem. A particular medication is chosen after consideration of the goals of treatment. I.e. analgesia, reduction of inflammation, reduction of muscle, spasm, and so on, and whether the medicine is suitable to the patient because some patients may not be able to tolerate certain medicines. The most commonly used medicines are as follows .

Capsaicin (Cayenne pepper)
