Back Sprain & Strain

Sprain

Sprain is an injury or tearing of the tendon or ligament. This is usually due to overstretching of the joint or if there is more force on the muscle than it can handle. Ligaments can be stretched beyond their natural integrity and in some cases can get completely torn. This usually occurs if you lift something heavy or slip and fall down. However, if you suddenly bend down to pick up something light or move a body part faster than you can control you can get a sprain because in these circumstances, the tissues get overstretched before they become ready for action.
